2017 A New Year At Creative Expressions Studio & Gallery

January 2017

The new Season begins shortly after New Years Day with our first Art Exhibition at the Gallery in Artist's Cottage #4.
Oil paintings and beautiful beaded jewelry featured in this exhibition.

FIFTH SEASON OF CLASSES AT CESG!!

January 10- February 9 2017 Session 1.    Introduction To Oils, Intermediate and Advanced Oil Painting classes are all filled with new and many returning students.
Intro/Refresher students painting with oils.

Lemons and grapes make a still life for experienced students.

Sketches turn into paintings on canvas.

February 3-24 is the Center For The Arts 28th Annual Members Only Exhibition.

Oil painting 'Perfect Peonies' #2151 was accepted to this juried exhibition.

February 15-16.  Palette Knife Workshop at the studio.

February 23-25.  Plein Air Workshop at Shangri-La Hotel and Spa in Bonita Springs, FL.  Center For The Arts provided this workshop; Douglas David, Instructor.  An interesting class using a palette I wasn't familiar with called the DuMonde palette.

Beautiful buildings surrounded by beautiful gardens along the river provided lots of inspiration and was a rewarding experience.

Orchids for a wedding reception would be a lovely painting!

March 21. The public was invited to the first ARTWALK in many years at the Artist's Cottages at Riverside Park.  Paintings, ceramics, jewelry, seashell artwork, wine and refreshments were offered.  The participating artists would like to see this become a monthly event.

Student Artists were invited to exhibit work at this event.

Fun time when the Artist's Cottages open for an evening event!

February 28-March 30, Session 2 Oil painting classes continue 3 days a week.

Working from life is a good thing!

Advanced class works on individual projects.

It was a very busy 'season' from January thru April
with classes, exhibitions, events in the park and I appreciate the support of all those who visit the Creative Expressions Gallery.  Especially those collectors of art who enjoy my work enough to purchase paintings for their homes.  Many original paintings and many prints have been sold over the years and this year has been no exception.  Two of my favorite commissioned paintings follow.

This sunset photograph was taken on March 15, 2017 while dining  at The Turtle Club on Vanderbilt Beach in Naples, FL.
It became the inspiration for this painting.

'Inspired By A Sunset' #2163 - 18x36"

'Paradise Found' #2162 - 18x38x2"; a favorite place in the Hawaiian Islands for this couple.

Palette knife was used to create this piece.

Painted on three sides of this gallery-wrap canvas.

Paintings on collectors walls include 'Great Blue Heron' and 'Paradise Found'.
